The Indian Railways has issued an important advisory to ensure the safety of its passengers during the festive season.

So, if your tickets are already booked for Diwali or you are planning to travel soon, there are some new rules and regulations that you should be aware of.
Also, before we start, did you know? You can now avail ZERO Payment Gateway Charges with CRED Pay and UPI while booking train tickets!

As per the advisory, passengers are not allowed to carry any inflammable and explosive articles in trains.
Here are the details:
> Travellers cannot carry explosive and dangerous items like firecrackers, gas cylinders and gunpowder.
> Inflammable substances like kerosene, petrol and films are forbidden.
> Lighting of gas stoves is not allowed inside the train compartments or station premises.
> Smoking is not permitted in train compartments or station premises.
IMPORTANT: Carrying inflammable and explosive articles in trains is a punishable offence under Sections 164 and 165 of the Railway Act, 1989, with a fine of up to Rs. 1000 or 3 years of imprisonment or both.
