A car ride to hill stations sometimes turn out to be very exhausting, especially for those with very less experience of driving in the mountains. Roads leading towards hill stations are extremely scenic but bumpy and curvy at the same time. A journey to one of the most loved hill stations of the country, Shimla is just the same.
To add to the convenience of the travellers, Himachal Pradesh Government on Monday launched a helicopter taxi service from Shimla to Chandigarh and vice versa. The journey is expected to take not more than 20 minutes. The service is anticipated to boost heli taxi tourism and if it turns out to be a success, it will be expanded to other tourist areas as well.
The heli taxi service was flagged off from the Jubbarhatti Airport Himachal Pradesh by Chief Minister Jairam Thakur. In his recent interview he said, “The Queen of Hills, being one of the leading travel destinations, would now be connected through heli taxi service from Chandigarh. We would try to connect other cities of the state through the service in future.”
