A metro station in Jaipur has become India’s first all women staff to manage a station all by themselves.
With absolute coordination that guarantees swift functioning at the station, these women are having a great time working with their all-women squad. “It’s a great feeling to know that I am doing something different”- says the lady metro driver.
- The entire staff of the Shyam Nagar Metro Station, Jaipur is female.
- Running the metro, station operations, supervising customers, passenger management, upkeep and even cleanliness of the station is managed by women staff.
- Out of the 23 drivers of the Jaipur Metro, 6 are female.
- Emphasizing on the policy to encourage women to be a part of this league, Jaipur Metro has successfully managed to hire 30% women for its staff.
- This station will now be called, “Pratham Mahila Shakti Railway Station”.
The corporation further extends their interest in making the entire metro service women friendly. By leveraging jobs for women, the Jaipur metro is paving a brighter way for others in the country.
