10 people have died while about 800 are hospitalised and over 1,000 have reportedly fallen ill after a toxic gas leaked today from LG Polymers chemical plant located near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
The horrific incident happened around 3 AM. Several people were seen lying unconscious on the roads while some faced breathing difficulties. People have also complained of sore eyes and rash on their body.
Precautionary Measure: Please use wet cloth as a mask to cover the nose and mouth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Spoke to officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and DescriptionNational Disaster Management Authority regarding the situation in Visakhapatnam, which is being monitored closely. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being in Visakhapatnam.”
