The merger between Vistara and Air India is set to reshape the Indian aviation landscape, marking the integration of two prominent Tata-owned carriers. Vistara will gradually cease accepting bookings for flights scheduled after November 11, 2024.
Starting November 12, 2024, all Vistara flights will be operated under Air India. As a result, any bookings made for Vistara flights scheduled after November 11, 2024, will be managed through Air India’s systems.
This strategic consolidation is a significant move aimed at creating one of the largest airline groups in the world. By merging the fleets and services, passengers will gain access to a broader selection of flights and improved connectivity. The merger also promises enhanced customer service through unified loyalty programs, better scheduling, and competitive pricing options, as both airlines work to optimize their operations.
Vistara’s CEO, Vinod Kannan, emphasized that this merger will not only increase flight options but also elevate the overall travel experience for passengers, merging both the values and operational excellence of the two airlines. As the transition takes place, customers will be redirected to Air India’s platforms for bookings and services, ensuring a smooth experience during this period of change
