As a part of the second phase of the Vande Bharat mission, the Indian government is planning to send 149 repatriation flights to 31 countries to bring back citizens stuck abroad.
More than 80000 Indians have registered for the evacuation flights. These flights will operate between May 16 and May 22.
As a part of the ongoing first phase of Vande Bharat mission, the government is sending 64 flights to bring nearly 15000 Indians from 12 countries. Approximately 6037 Indian citizens have already returned in 31 flights. Passengers are paying for the journey back home.
In the second phase of the evacuation mission, flights will be operated from European countries such as France, Germany, Italy and Ireland.
Citizens will also be brought back from Indonesia, Philippines,Thailand, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Canada, Australia, Japan, Armenia, Nepal and Nigeria.
