Indian Railways recently conducted a successful trial run on the Katra-Banihal rail corridor. With this development, the train will become the first semi-high-speed service in Kashmir Valley and the third Vande Bharat Sleeper Train in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

This launch will allow travellers to seamlessly book New Delhi to Jammu trains, enhancing connectivity with the region. The train, operating under Northern Railway (NR), will feature a distinctive orange and brown colour scheme.

The Vande Bharat train timing will be optimized to reduce travel time between Katra and Srinagar to just three hours. Meanwhile, the Vande Bharat train ticket price is yet to be finalised.

Unlike other Vande Bharat trains, this model is designed to withstand extreme cold, functioning efficiently even at -20°C. The train is equipped with advanced heating mechanisms to ensure passenger comfort.
