Is your driving license expiring soon? Well, don’t worry! The government has announced that all driving licenses that are expiring between February 1 and June 30 will be considered as valid till June 30.
This extension is applicable for all the documents related to the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, such as driving license, registration, vehicle fitness documents and permits.
The announcement is meant to bring clarity to the general public, as even though commercial and private vehicles are being allowed during lockdown 3.0, document renewal is not possible since the government transport offices remain closed.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India has crossed the 49,000 mark.
