After nearly five months, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra finally resumed on August 16th. The temple had been closed as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus pandemic.
The Vaishno Devi Shrine Board had already begun preparations for the yatra a few months in advance.
For now, the shrine administration will allow a maximum of 2,000 pilgrims to proceed daily. Of these, only 100 people from outside Jammu and Kashmir will be allowed to perform the pilgrimage daily.
