Several coaches of the Lucknow-Kanpur MEMU train derailed at platform number 3 of the Kanpur railway station this morning. No injuries or casualties were reported after the incident.
The local MEMU train (no.64201), on its way to Kanpur from Lucknow, arrived on platform number 3 of the station when two of its bogies derailed around 7.30 am.
Since the train was at a low speed during the time of the accident, there was no injury and the passengers had de-boarded. The restoration work is underway and an inquiry into the incident has been ordered.
