Today’s Railway Updates: New Trains Launched, Coaches Added

Good news for all train travellers! 

Various zones and divisions of Indian Railways announced commencement of new trains, extension of existing trains and addition of coaches. This step will help the national transporter accommodate a higher number of passengers in the upcoming months.

New Trains Launched

1)  The East Central Railway will be starting a pair of trains between Patliputra and Ayodhya. 

Train no. 03219 Patliputra–Ayodhya Cantt. Summer Special will depart from Patliputra every Friday at 7:40 PM. It will run from 1st July to 19th August. 

Train no. 03220 Ayodhya Cantt.–Patliputra Summer Special will depart from Ayodhya Cantt. every Saturday at 8:15 PM. It will run from 2nd July to 20th August.

2) The South Central Railway (SCR) notified about the restoration of seven trains in July.

These services will cover important routes, including Tirupati–Katpadi, Guntur–Vijayawada and Nandyal–Kadapa. For the complete list, here is the official tweet:

Extension of Trains

3) The North Eastern Railway tweeted that two trains will be extended until the end of next month. 

Train no. 09185 Mumbai Central–Kanpur Anwarganj Special will now run until 30th July, and train no. 09186 Kanpur Anwarganj–Mumbai Central Special will similarly extend until 31st July. Both these services will be available on a weekly basis. 

4) The SCR declared that it will implement a change in the frequency and route of two trains.  

The Nanded–Hadapsar Bi-Weekly Express will now run as Nanded–Pune Express on a daily basis. This decision was taken to facilitate better connectivity between the Marathwada region and Pune.

Addition of Coaches

5) The SCR also released a list of 28 trains which will have extra coaches added to them. 

The routes covered by these services include Secunderabad–Darbhanga, Tirupati–Kakinada, Hyderabad–Hadapsar and Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam.
