Kumbh is attended by people of all kinds. And while there are regular visitors, there are also people who might be experiencing this spectacle for the first time and may not know what to do in Kumbh Mela 2019. Combining the best and the worst, here’s a list of what to do and what not to do this year at the mela.
Things to do in Kumbh Mela 2019:
Attend the Laser Light Show
This time, pilgrims can look forward to a laser light and sound show at the Ardh Kumbh Mela. Having already started operations since December 2018 at the Prayagraj Fort Wall, this new attraction is expected to draw a lot of crowd.
Witness the thematic Gates
The mela will feature more than 25 thematic gates connecting the roads to the mela grounds. These gates will help glorify the local culture and heritage of the city.
Go Glamping: Luxury tents
Bringing the ultimate luxurious camping experience to the Ardh Kumbh Mela, these luxury tents are each equipped with modern conveniences such as heating, running hot and cold water and western toilets.
Things Not to do at Kumbh Mela:
Don’t carry valuables, unnecessary food and clothing
Always remember that this place is visited by millions of people, all at the same time. Therefore, only carry things are of utmost necessity. There are chances that you may not always be able to keep a watch on your belongings.
Don’t venture into the river beyond permissible limits
Tragedy strikes when rules are not followed. On the bathing days, keep yourself clear from the more crowded, intense parts of the river banks.
Don’t use plastic bags in the mela area
Using plastics and other material of similar kind has a high chance of polluting the river. Therefore, refrain from using them in the mela area.
