Seeing a continuous decline in the number of tourists, Thailand’s cabinet has decided to waive off visa-on-arrival fees for 21 countries for 2 months.
This means that the usual fees of 2,000 baht (₹4,410) will not be levied on tourists between December 1 and January 31. The maximum stay period, however, will be 15 days.
Passport holders of Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are included in the list.
The scheme is expected to increase tourist numbers by at least 30 percent during the period.
