Sri Lanka to Grant Visa-Free Entry to Indians Starting October 1

Exciting news for travellers from India and 34 other countries! Starting October 1, 2024, Sri Lanka will offer visa-free entry to citizens of these nations for a period of six months.

The decision, announced by Sri Lankan Minister of Tourism Harin Fernando, is set to boost tourism from countries like India, the UK, the US, China, and more.

The move follows a Supreme Court interim order that suspended the e-visa portal previously managed by IVS-GBS and VFS Global. With e-visas unavailable, travellers from India could still use the visa-on-arrival option until the visa-free access begins.

The current visa fee for Indians is $50, or approximately ₹4199
