The decision was made due to operational constraints.

“Pakyong is a VFR (Visual Flight Rules) airport and does not have instrument landing facilities. The required minimum to operate from this airport is 5,000 feet, which is difficult to achieve on most days of the year, especially during the winter months. To avoid inconvenience to our passengers, flight operations have been temporarily suspended. We will share an update once the services resume,” an official from the airline said.
The suspension of flights will affect the tourism sector in the state. It is hoped, however, that the air services will resume early next year when the weather is favourable.
