Things to do at the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro
- The Desfile (samba parade) at the Sambadrome is the highlight of the festival! The parade starts at 9 pm every night and is the world’s biggest dance-off. Here Brazil’s top samba schools compete against each other.
- Thanks to the larger-than-life costumes, everything at the Carnival is super colourful. The most interesting costumes are the feathered ones.
- Another exciting experience at the Carnival are blocos that are basically street parties held in different parts of the city. Of course, these are full of dance and drinks with several street bands playing local music.
