Restrictions have been imposed at the Delhi Airport on charter flights and airlines’ non-scheduled flights due to approaching Republic Day on 26th January, stated a notice issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
No landing or take off will be permitted from the airport for airlines’ non-scheduled flights and general aviation companies’ charter flights between 10:15 am and 1:15 pm till 24th January.
On Republic Day, non-scheduled flights and charter flights will not be allowed to land or take off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport between 7:00 am and 1 pm and between 2:00 pm and 6.30 pm. On 29th January, due to the ‘Beating Retreat ceremony, non-scheduled flights and charter flights will not be permitted to land or take off from the Delhi Airport between 4 pm – 7 pm.
Major Indian airlines, IndiGo and SpiceJet have also tweeted about it and advised the passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
