The Indian Railways is to review the ticket prices of the select Vande Bharat trains that cover shorter distances and have low passenger occupancy. The objective is to lower the fares in order to enhance affordability and make these trains more financially sustainable for the public.

As per the reports, routes of Vande Bharat Express such as – Indore–Bhopal, Bhopal–Jabalpur, and Nagpur–Bilaspur, along with some others are likely to fall in this category.
According to the latest data report, the Bhopal–Jabalpur Vande Bharat service recorded 29% occupancy, whereas the Indore–Bhopal Vande Bharat Express had only 21% occupancy.
The fares for the Vande Bharat Express vary according to the route, class of travel, etc. The fare ranges between ₹950 and ₹2000 depending on the type of class (Chair Car/ Executive Class).
