A good news for train travellers! The Indian Railways is planning to launch state-of-the-art, luxury coaches for Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains. The coaches will be named as Anubhuti and will have a world of new features for the comfort of train travellers.

The luxury coaches will be manufactured at ICF (Integral Coach Factory), Chennai and are expected to be functional on prominent Shatabdi routes by the end of year 2017. The average cost of every Anubhuti coach is estimated at INR 2.5 crore. Initially, the coaches will be implemented on selected routes of Shatabdi including Delhi-Lucknow, Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Chandigarh and Delhi Jaipur.

The tariffs are yet to be decided but railways officials have indicated a higher ticket price (20 to 25% hike) as compared to the existing fares for first class and executive travel.
