The East Central Railway (ECR) has announced that it will be redeveloping five railway stations in Bihar along with the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA).
The stations, which include Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna), Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Singrauli and Begusarai, receive a high number of passengers and are amongst the most important railway stations in Bihar.
The five railway stations will be equipped with all airport-like facilities under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Search TrainsThis means that travellers will get facilities such as food plaza, restaurants, parking zones with links to platforms, shopping areas, internet, cafeteria and medical emergency booths at these railway stations.

The RLDA has taken up the redevelopment of railway stations across the Indian Railway network and is currently working on redeveloping 62 stations across the country in a phased manner. The first phase of the project includes the redevelopment of prominent stations like New Delhi, Tirupati, Dehradun, Nellore and Puducherry.
They will be redeveloped on a PPP model as part of the Smart City projects launched by the Government of India.
