Indian Railways is preparing to launch a Vande Bharat train service connecting Patna in Bihar with Howrah in Bengal. The semi-high-speed train is anticipated to commence its operations during either the first or second week of August.

The Patna–Howrah Vande Bharat Express is expected to run at a speed of 90 km per hour to 110 km per hour and will cover a distance of 535 km in about seven hours.
This will be the second Vande Bharat Express in Bihar after the first train between Patna and Ranchi.
As per a senior railway official, the Railways has initiated the groundwork for operating the esteemed Vande Bharat Express on the Patna–Howrah route. They are currently working on establishing the train’s timetable and fare, alongside reinforcing the tracks along the Patna–Jhajha–Asansol–Howrah mainline. The finalization of fares and stoppages is still pending.
