Three Indian Railway zones have announced that they will be restoring multiple special trains from mid-June. After many cancellations due to low occupancy since April, the news comes as a relief to passengers who need more options to travel for work or visit home.

20 long-distance trains resume services
The Western Railways is restoring 8 pairs of special trains on high-demand routes like Mumbai – Jaisalmer, Ahmedabad – Katra, Delhi – Rajkot and Gandhidham – Kamakhya.

Along with this, the following 4 special trains are being restored in the railway zone:
> 02474 Bandra Terminus – Bikaner Spl will run on Tuesdays from June 22 to June 29
> 02473 Bikaner – Bandra Terminus Spl will run on Mondays from June 21 to June 28
> 09773 Indore – Jaipur Spl will run on Mondays and Saturdays from June 19 until further notice
> 09712 Bhopal – Jaipur Spl will run daily from June 19 until further notice
Karnataka: 14 trains renewed
The Divisional Railway Manager of Hubballi has shared that 14 special trains in the South Western Railway Zone have been restored from June. Some of these services resumed yesterday, while the latest will begin from Monday, June 21.

Eastern Railway restarts 8 trains
The railway zone has restored multiple mail/express special trains for travel across West Bengal, Bihar and Assam:
> 02344 New Jalpaiguri – Sealdah Spl will run daily from June 19
> 03034 Katihar – Howrah Spl will run daily from June 19
> 02261 Kolkata – Haldibari Spl will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays June 19
> 02262 Haldibari – Kolkata Spl will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from June 20
> 03161 Kolkata – Balurghat Spl will run on all days except Saturday from June 20
> 03162 Balurghat – Kolkata Spl will run on all days except Sunday from June 21
> 03181 Kolkata – Silghat Spl will run on Mondays from June 21
> 03182 Silghat – Kolkata Spl will run on Tuesdays from June 22
