These developments aim to provide smoother access to spiritual places in India while boosting connectivity.
For travellers planning to visit pilgrimage destinations in India, such as the jyotirlingas in Nashik (Trimbakeshwar), Khandwa (Omkareshwar), and Varanasi (Kashi Vishwanath), the new railway routes promise more convenient journeys and seamless access.
Additionally, these projects will improve connectivity to other prominent destinations, including Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Gaya, and Shirdi.
The proposed projects include the construction of the Jalgaon–Manmad fourth line (160 km), the Bhusaval–Khandwa third and fourth lines (131 km), and the Prayagraj–Manikpur third line (84 km), covering a total of 375 km.
With more IRCTC train services expected on the Mumbai–Prayagraj–Varanasi corridor, these routes will not only reduce travel time but also alleviate congestion on one of the busiest railway corridors in the country.
