Book TrainsCentrally Heated Sleeper Train: New Delhi to Srinagar
A centrally heated sleeper train will soon connect New Delhi and Srinagar, offering a comfortable and scenic 13-hour journey. The train will pass through stunning mountains and cross the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge at 359 meters.
This train will focus on luxury, providing high-end amenities for passengers. However, it will not have second-class sleeper coaches.
Vande Bharat Express: Katra to Baramulla Route
For the 246-km route between Katra and Baramulla, Indian Railways is launching an eight-coach Vande Bharat Express train with chair car seating. This train is specially designed to handle the cold weather of Jammu and Kashmir.
It features silicone heating pads to prevent freezing, hot air ducts in the toilets, and a heated windshield for the Loco Pilot. These features ensure the Vande Bharat train route can handle harsh weather conditions and operate smoothly even in very low temperatures.
The train will also save a lot of time, completing the journey in just three-and-a-half hours, compared to the 10-hour bus ride currently available. Baramulla railway station, located 57 km from Srinagar, will see improved connectivity with this new train service.
These new trains, including the specialized Vande Bharat service, highlight Indian Railways’ efforts to enhance travel in Jammu and Kashmir by offering better facilities, faster connections, and optimized Vande Bharat train timing for passenger convenience.
