In a bid to promote religious tourism, Indian Railways has decided to launch the Vande Bharat Express on Delhi-Katra route soon. It is expected that once the train starts operating, travellers will be able to travel from Delhi to Katra in 8 hours, which would be 4 hours less than the current time.
The train will be capable of picking up a maximum speed of 130 kmph and will halt at Ambala, Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi, before reaching its final destination.
According to the Railway Ministry, the train will depart from New Delhi at 06:00 AM and reach Ambala at 08:10 AM. After a 2 minute halt here, it will leave for Ludhiana and reach there at 09:22 AM. The stoppage time here will also be for two minutes. The next stop is Jammu Tawi and the arrival time here is 12:40 PM. The train will finally reach Katra at 2:00 PM.
Book TrainsOn its return leg, the Vande Bharat Express will depart from Katra at 03:00 PM, reach Jammu Tawi at 04:18 PM, stop at Ludhiana at 07:36 PM, touch Ambala at 08:56 PM and finally reach New Delhi at 11:00 PM.
