The Indian Railways has decided to extend as many as 12 trains on routes which are experiencing high passenger demand.
While some of these trains are being extended till August-end, others have got extensions till the end of September and even early October.
The national transporter will also be starting six new trains in the coming days.

Extended Trains
- Train no. 02449 Shalimar – Secunderabad Weekly Special has been extended from today, August 4 till September 29.
- Train no. 02450 Secunderabad – Shalimar Weekly Special has been extended from August 6 till October 1.
- Train no. 08637 Hatia – Bengaluru Cantt. Weekly Special has been extended from August 7 till September 25.
- Train no. 08638 Bengaluru Cantt. – Hatia Weekly Special has been extended from August 10 till September 28.
- Train no. 03180 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) – Sealdah Special has been extended from August 10 till September 28. The timings for this train have also been revised. It will now depart every Tuesday from LTT at 04:40 pm and arrive in Sealdah at 09:00 am on the third day.
- Train no. 03179 Sealdah – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Special has been extended from August 8 till September 26. This train will also operate with new timings: it will now depart from Sealdah at 06:30 pm every Sunday and arrive in LTT at 07:25 am on the third day.
- Train no. 02593 Sainagar Shirdi – Howrah Special has been extended from August 7 till October 2.
- Train no. 02594 Howrah – Sainagar Shirdi Special has been extended from August 5 till September 30.
- Train no. 05402 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) – Gorakhpur Weekly Special has been extended for three more trips in August. It will now operate on August 13, 20 and 27.
- Train no. 05401 Gorakhpur – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Weekly Special has also been extended for three more trips in August. It will now operate on August 11, 18 and 25.
- Train no. 05301 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus Special, which was earlier scheduled to run till July 30, will now also operate on August 6, 13 and 20.
- Train no. 05302 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Special, which was earlier scheduled to run till July 31, will now also operate on August 7, 14 and 21.
6 New Trains
The South Western Railway will be operating two unreserved passenger special trains on a daily basis between Chikkmagaluru and Yesvantpur from August 10. Check the timings and stoppages below:

The Northern Railway will be operating two new unreserved mail/express special trains between Delhi Junction and Hisar Junction on a daily basis from August 7:
