Those who are planning to travel from Indore Railway Station between 4 March and 5 March must reconsider their travel plans as the railway station won’t be functional for two days. While 22 trains would remain cancelled, 30 would terminate at nearby stations. There would be construction and electric work on the Indore-Laxmibai Nagar Lane and as many as 52 – both short and long train journeys connecting Indore will be affected. Only manual or interlocking system would be used for operating trains during this period.
As told by Manoj Sharma, DRM, Ratlam, the construction and electric work will start early morning on 4 March and continue for upto 24 hours.
Laxmi Nagar Station is neither well-connected to the city nor equipped to handle a large population so stay calm to avoid any chaos. Moreover, the station would be crowded with devotees during Simhastha festival.
While the cancelled trains on 4 March will include passenger trains from Indore to Maksi, Nagda, Kota, Ujjain and Bhopal, the cancelled trains on 5 March will include passenger trains from Indore to Habibganj and passenger trains to Nagda and Maksi. Also, the cancelled trains on 6 March would include Indore-Habibganj Intercity Express and Dahod-Habibganj passenger trains.
Avantika Express, Jabalpur-Indore Express, Jodhpur-Indore Express and Indore-Gandhinagar Express are trains that will terminate at Laxmibai Nagar Railway Station on 4 March. And, Indore-Rewa Express, Jaipur-Indore Express, Indore-Jodhpur Express, Dehradun-Indore and Howrah-Indore Shipra Express would terminate at Lakshmibai Nagar station on 5 March. There are few other short distance trains that would be diverted to Paliya and Dewas Stations.
