The Railway Board has announced to reduce the time period for the advance booking of trains from 120 days to 60 days. The new time limit would take effect from November 1.

Passengers can now book tickets up to 60 days in advance, compared to the previous 120-day booking period. This advance reservation period does not include the day of the train’s departure.
New rules for advance train ticket booking will not impact bookings done prior to November 1. All the bookings done till October 31 will remain intact.

There will be no change in the case of certain day-time express trains like Taj Express, Gomti Express, among others where lower time limits for advance reservations are already in place.
There will also be no change in the case of limit of 365 days for Foreign Tourists.
