About The Carnival of Venice:
The carnival was started to bring back the history and culture of Venice and also to mark the beginning of the spring season. People wear elaborate masks and colourful costumes to hide their identity and roam around the city. One of the most important events is the contest for ‘la maschera più bella – the most beautiful mask’. It happens in the last weekend of the Carnival and juried by a panel of international costume and fashion designers.
