Terminal 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru is all set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on November 11.
According to the authorities, the large number of foreign travellers arriving in the city would be accommodated by this new, international terminal.

It has the capacity of 25 lakh travellers and consists of 100 counters. If both terminals are merged, Bengaluru will become the second-largest airport in the country, following Delhi.

There are two phases to the new terminal’s development. Phase 1 is complete and covers the area of 255,000 square metres. In its second phase, Terminal 2 is anticipated to grow by 4.41 lakh square metres.
Who created this terminal?
Larsen & Toubro was awarded the contract of Rs. 3,000 crore by Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) in October 2018 to build this terminal. Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, an American architectural firm, was roped in for its design.
