This remarkable infrastructure project, constructed at an approximate expenditure of ₹710 crore, will significantly help in the improvement of connectivity on this island. With a total built-up area of around 40,800 square meters, the terminal building has the capacity to efficiently accommodate approximately 50 lakh passengers each year.

The newly constructed three-storey terminal building showcases a stunning shell-shaped design, reminiscent of the captivating sea and islands. This has a total of 28 check-in counters, three passenger boarding bridges, and four conveyor belts.
The new airport terminal building has a number of eco-friendly features like a double-insulated roofing system to reduce heat gain, skylights to provide maximum inlet of sunlight during the day to reduce artificial light usage inside the building, LED lighting, and low heat gain glazing.
Moreover, This expansive integrated terminal building will boost air traffic and help enhance tourism in the region.
