PM Modi Inaugurates Arunachal Pradesh’s New Airport

Arunachal Pradesh’s first greenfield airport, Donyi Polo Airport, in Itanagar’s Hollongi was inaugurated recently by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This will give a major aviation boost to Northeast India.

The foundation stone for the airport was laid by PM Modi in February 2019.

Where is the Hollongi Airport located?

The Hollongi Airport is located 15 kms from Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh.

The airport is built across an area of over 690 acres at a cost of more than Rs. 640 crore. With a 2300-metre-long runway, the new airport is suitable to operate in all weather conditions. Its terminal is a modern building, which promotes energy efficiency and recycling.


Donyi Polo will be the third operational airport in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the total airport count in the Northeast region to 16.
