Today, Prime Minister Modi virtually launched the Vijayawada–Chennai Vande Bharat Express train, which will be available to the public from tomorrow.

This train will be Tamil Nadu’s third Vande Bharat train. In Andhra Pradesh, Vande Bharat trains are already operating between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad, as well as between Secunderabad and Tirupati.
The introduction of the new Vande Bharat Express on the Vijayawada–Chennai route will greatly reduce travel time. It is expected that the train will cover the distance of nearly 500 kms in just six and a half hours.
The Vande Bharat Express departing from Vijayawada will make stops at Gudur, Renigunta, and Katpadi before reaching Chennai. The return journey follows the same route.
