“Vande Bharat makes 100 times less noise inside the train, as compared to an airplane. People who are used to travelling on flights will prefer the Vande Bharat train once they get to experience it,” PM Modi said in Ahmedabad.

Connecting the capital cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat, this train is the country’s third Vande Bharat Express. The first such service was launched on the New Delhi–Varanasi route, while the second one ran between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

The train will provide passengers a travelling experience similar to that of an aircraft with cutting-edge safety features including Kavach technology, a locally designed Train Collision Avoidance System.

Other upgrades include on-demand content with a Wi-Fi facility, recliner seats and GPS systems to make travelling safer and more comfortable.

The Gandhinagar–Mumbai Vande Bharat Superfast Express will begin its commercial operations from October 1. Barring Sundays, it will run six days a week. The train will depart from Mumbai Central at 6:10 AM, and will arrive at Gandhinagar at 12:30 PM. During its return journey, the train will depart from Gandhinagar at 2:05 PM, and will reach Mumbai Central at 8:35 PM.
