Another train derailment has shocked the entire nation. The engine and power car of the Ranchi Rajdhani Express derailed near Shivaji Bridge, just before entering the New Delhi Railway Station on Thursday morning. One person was injured and was taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in Darya Ganj.
As per the sources, just 20 minutes before the accident, the loco pilot of 12301-Howrah Rajdhani felt a jerk and alerted the engineering staff about the same. After inspection, the staff gave a green signal for the trains to pass at the speed of 5 km/h. Three trains successfully passed before the Ranchi Rajdhani derailed.
The most important question here is, “why the engineering staff allowed trains to pass without rectifying the fault properly?”. Senior railway officials said, an enquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the derailment and how the track got damaged.
