Good news for train travellers! Railways has announced a 100% refund for train tickets booked under tatkal. Both e-tickets and counter tickets are eligible for a refund. Although this refund is only possible when the following 5 conditions come into play:
Tatkal Ticket Refund Rules —
- Passengers can get the refund if the train is delayed by three hours or more.
- If the route of the train gets diverted.
- If the train is to run on diverted route and boarding station or the destination or both the stations are not on the diverted route.
- In case of non-attachment of coach in which tatkal accommodation has been earmarked and the passenger has not been provided accommodation in the same class.
- If the passenger has been accommodated in lower class and does not want to travel (In case he chooses to travel in lower class, the difference of fare will be paid, if any)
PRO, NER, Sanjay Yadav said that on the basis of these five conditions, the rule of 100 percent refund on Tatkal tickets is applicable.
