To solve connectivity problems that people face while travelling, ixigo has introduced a new feature called ‘Offline Mode’ on its trains app. The feature will enable users to search for information related to travel routes, train stops and schedule, even without the internet.
In the absence of internet or low network connectivity, ixigo trains app offers users the ability to view trains, set station alarms, receive booking reminders, check live train running status and search for train routes.
With the help of this ‘Live Running Status’ feature, travellers can now easily track their train location even when there is no internet.
Commenting on the latest launch, CTO & Co-founder of ixigo, Rajnish Kumar said, “Network issues during train travel restrict accessibility of accurate information, which is a common pain point for travellers. Our intent was to provide a simplistic solution to this issue. It was a big challenge to keep the app light by compressing an additional 100MB offline train data, within the 10MB size of the app. The offline mode will provide millions of Indian train travellers the desired train information, with or without an internet connection.”
This feature is available on the latest app version only. Update the App to enjoy the ixigo experience!
