Indian Railways’ latest feat, ‘Utkrisht Double-Decker Air-conditioned Yatri Express’ also known as Uday Express is expected to roll out by March-end 2018.
Uday Express will cater to the “busiest routes” like Coimbatore-Bengaluru, Bandra-Jamnagar and Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada. It will also boast of multiple new features such as Wi-Fi, a food vending machine, LCD screens and a middle deck for passengers to enjoy meals. It will even increase carrying capacity by 40%.
Features of Uday Express:
- The new train can seat up to 104 passengers
- Each coach of the train will have 7 LCD screens for passenger information (next destination, distance to the next station etc.)
- To maintain clean trains, the interiors have been given an anti-graffiti vinyl wrapping
UDAY Express routes:
As per the new Indian Railways timetable, following are the trains: 22666 Coimbatore-Bengaluru UDAY Express, 22665 Bengaluru-Coimbatore UDAY Express, 22923 Bandra (T)-Jamnagar UDAY Express, 22924 Jamnagar-Bandra(T) UDAY Express, 22701 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada UDAY Express, 22702 Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam UDAY Express.
