Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa along with Union Minister of State of Railways Suresh Angadi flagged off a new train connecting Bengaluru and Goa.
The route will pass through several coastal districts of Karnataka.
The new train will provide direct connectivity to Bengaluru, Udupi, Kundapur and Karwar and enhance connectivity for people of the coastal region.
This new service will replace the existing overnight Karwar Express which takes over 17 hours. The duration of its journey will be nearly 14 hours.

- The new train with the number 16595/16596 will operate between Yeshwantpur and Vasco via Udupi and Karwar.
- The train will leave Yeshwantpur at 6:45 pm and arrive in Karwar at 8:25 am the next day before reaching Vasco at 10:30 am.
- On its return journey, the train will depart from Vasco at 3:25 pm and reach Karwar at 5:45 pm. It will leave from Karwar at 6:00 pm and arrive at Yeshwanthpur at 8:00 am.
