In today’s latest travel update, more Indian states have issued new guidelines to control the surge in COVID cases in the country. While Maharashtra has issued a fresh order detailing the activities allowed in the state, Goa, Karnataka, Tripura, Nagaland and Ladakh have issued new night curfews.
Along with this, Uttarakhand, Assam and Uttar Pradesh have issued new travel guidelines while Jharkhand and Puducherry have imposed lockdowns.

Maharashtra issues stricter rules
Maharashtra has issued a fresh set of COVID guidelines that will come into effect starting 8 pm today and will remain in force till 7 am on May 1.
Most notably, the new order states that inter-city or inter-district travel by long-distance trains and buses would now require sharing the information of passengers and their destinations with the local authorities.
Such passengers will also be stamped for 14 days home quarantine. They may also be required to undergo thermal screening as well as RAT tests if required so by the authorities.
Along with this, the new order details the conditions under which travel on public and private transport is allowed, along with new curbs on marriage ceremonies and office attendance. We advise passengers to check the entire order here:

Uttarakhand issues new travel rules and extends night curfew timings
The Uttarakhand government has issued a new order, which details that night curfew in the state will now remain enforced between 7 pm and 5 am from Monday till Saturday. The state will be observing curfew for the entire day on Sunday.
Along with this, all tourists, devotees and other incoming travellers will have to mandatorily register on the smart city portal (smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in) and carry a RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours on arrival.
The registration on the smart city portal is also applicable for Uttarakhand residents returning from other states. As an added step, they may also be asked to undergo home quarantine for seven days.

Jharkhand, Puducherry impose lockdowns
Starting today, the Jharkhand government will be observing a lockdown in the state under the Swasthya Suraksha Saptah (Health Safety Week) till April 29. All shops, barring those providing essential services will be shut and only a few central, state sectors and private offices will remain open.
However, industries, agricultural, construction and mining activities will continue in the state.
Along with this, Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, has announced a total lockdown in the union territory from 10 pm on April 23 till 5 am on April 26.
Passengers must note that in both the states, air and train travel will remain unaffected. Travel to/from the airports and railway stations will also be permitted with a valid ticket or boarding pass.
Assam imposes mandatory home quarantine
In a new order, the Assam government has now made seven days home quarantine mandatory for all train passengers arriving in the state. Passengers must note that this home quarantine is compulsory even if they test COVID negative on arrival.
Night curfews announced by five states & UTs
Goa, Tripura, Ladakh, Karnataka and Nagaland have issued new night curfews. Passengers must note that essential services will be allowed during curfew hours and air and train travel will remain unaffected. Travel to/from the airports and railway stations will also be permitted with a valid ticket or boarding pass.
Check the dates and timings of the night curfews below:
> Goa: The night curfew in the state will remain in place till April 30, between 10 pm and 6 am.
> Tripura: Starting today, there will be a night curfew in the Agartala Municipal Corporation Area between 10 pm and 5 am.
> Ladakh: The night curfew will remain in place in Leh from 10 pm to 5 am.
> Karnataka: The state will observe a night curfew between 9 pm and 6 am. Along with this, weekend curfews will be imposed from Friday 9 pm to Monday 6 am. These restrictions will apply till May 4.
> Nagaland: The state will be imposing a night curfew between 8 pm and 5 am in Dimapur district starting tomorrow, April 23.
Uttar Pradesh issues new travel guidelines for migrant workers
The government of Uttar Pradesh has announced that migrant workers arriving from other states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will be tested and provided with appropriate quarantine and medical arrangements.
While asymptomatic workers will be quarantined for one week, symptomatic workers will have to undergo two weeks of quarantine.
