The New Farakka Express (Train No. 14003) derailed near Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh at 6:05 am today killing 7 people and injuring around 35.
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has been deployed to conduct rescue and relief operations. A team of doctors in an Accident Relief Medical Van have been rushed to the site as well.
The train was expected to reach New Delhi station around 2.30 pm today.
Note: Trains on the Varanasi-Lucknow route have been halted.
