The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to start the construction work for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway corridor in March 2019.
Soon, you will be able to reach Mumbai from Delhi and vice-versa in just 12.5 hours. Presently, this journey takes close to 25 hours.
The project is expected to finish by March 2022, cutting down the travel time by half and making the commute between two of the biggest metro cities of India easier.
NHAI is acquiring about 12,000 hectares for this massive project, and once completed, it will be the longest expressway in the country.
Currently, the government has 700 ongoing National Highway projects across the country. Out of these, nearly 300 national highway projects are set to be completed in 2019.
