The IRCTC has opened a swanky new Executive Lounge at the historic New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS). Designed to give an airport-like waiting experience, it has had travellers pouring in 24/7 to enjoy world-class amenities since its launch on September 16.

Located on the first floor near Platform 1 (Paharganj side), this is the second lounge of its kind in Delhi. The first is also at the NDLS station, and opened in 2016 near the concourse of Platform 16 (Ajmeri Gate side).

For an entry fee of Rs.150 (excluding taxes), guests can avail these facilities for one hour:
- Wi-Fi
- Tea, coffee, soft beverages
- A luggage rack
- Newspapers and magazines for reading
- A train information display and announcements
- A television
- Separate toilets and urinals
For each extra hour inside, passengers will have to pay Rs.99 (excluding taxes). Beyond these basic amenities, the Platform 1 Executive Lounge also offers:
- A business centre (for computer use, photocopies, printouts)
- A wash and change facility with dental/bath kits
- A multi-cuisine buffet serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks
- A deluxe resting suite with recliners

How to book your stay
The IRCTC executive lounges accept walk-in and online bookings for any passenger or group with a valid train ticket (reserved/unreserved). To book online, you can use one of these portals:

A government-issued photo ID card is required for entry. Once you arrive at the lounge, you will be given a smart card which has to be swiped for entry/exit and to mark your time inside.
Such state-of-the-art IRCTC lounges are also active at the Agra, Jaipur, Sealdah, Madurai and Ahmedabad railway stations. The next time you travel by train to any of these cities, give them a try!
