A ‘Skyscraper Bridge’ is all set to be built at a height of 32 metres, the first-of-its-kind in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The bridge, set to be complete by mid-2022, will connect Worli to Sewri. It will be roughly the height of a 10-storey building.
This is the first bridge in Mumbai to be built at such a height, and will go above the existing flyovers and Monorail.
As it is set to run through densely populated areas of Worli, Elphinstone Road, Parel and Sewri, residential and commercial buildings will make way for it and residents will have to be rehabilitated.
Authorities have already started work on this elevated connector corridor which is sure to be another landmark in the ‘Maximum City’.
