Changing two existing rules, IRCTC will now allow passengers to claim a full refund of their tickets, if they miss their train.
The rule only applies to passengers who have connecting tickets and miss their second train in case of late arrival of the first train. The refund processed will be the full fare of the second ticket.
Things to keep in mind when filing the refund:
1. Passenger must have filled the exact same information about themselves in both the tickets.
2. The first ticket’s arrival point and second ticket’s starting point has to be the same.
In another rule change, the passengers can now change their boarding station upto four hours before the train departure, totally free of cost.
The rule is applicable to all passengers who have reservations under the general quota category, even if they have a Tatkal ticket. The rule will be invalid once the chart is prepared.
