Train travellers, here’s some good news!
To provide a better experience to travellers, various divisions of the Indian Railways have launched new trains and extended existing services.
If you’re planning on travelling via the national transporter in the coming days, you can easily book your seats in these trains on ixigo. Scroll down to learn more.

> The Central Railway tweeted about four special services that will be operated between Mumbai and Kanniyakumari.
- Train no. 01461 will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 3:30 PM on 5th January, and will reach Kanniyakumari at 11:20 PM the next day.
- Train no. 01462 will depart from Kanniyakumari at 2:15 PM on 7th January, and will reach Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 9:50 PM the next day.
- Train no. 01463 will depart from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 3:30 PM on 12th and 19th January, and will reach Kanniyakumari at 11:20 PM the next day.
- Train no. 01464 will depart from Kanniyakumari at 2:15 PM on 14th and 21st January, and will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 9:50 PM the next day.
> The South Central Railway notified about 27 new trains that will be operational in the winter months.

> The East Central Railway confirmed that two services will take additional trips for passengers’ convenience.
Train no. 03230 Patna–Puri Special will run for eight extra trips. It will continue to operate on every Thursday until 23rd February.
Train no. 03229 Puri–Patna Special will also run for eight extra trips. It will continue to operate on every Friday until 24th February.
> The Northeast Frontier Railway also announced the extension of two trains.
