In an important new development, the Uttarakhand High Court has ordered that tourists visiting Nainital and Mussoorie be mandatorily tested for the coronavirus on arrival.
The two cities are amongst the most popular tourist destinations in Uttarakhand.

Book FlightsThe order for testing of tourists on arrival has been resumed keeping the Christmas and New Year holidays in mind. The state witnesses a heavy inflow of tourists, particularly to these two destinations, at this time of the year.
The new order was confirmed on the official Twitter handle of the Press Trust of India (PTI):

The move comes shortly after the state declared that travellers coming from the Delhi-NCR must carry a COVID negative report to enter Uttarakhand.
The state government had earlier removed the compulsory requirement for tourists to produce a COVID negative report while entering Uttarakhand back in September in order to boost tourism.
