Indian Railways is gearing up for the Maha Kumbh in January, which will take place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. After smoothly managing festive traffic in October and November, the railways is now focused on upgrading stations in and around Prayagraj.

To enhance convenience for pilgrims, new foot-over bridges and temporary and permanent passenger shelters are being built around the stations. Additionally, over 13,000 trains will be deployed to cater to the increased travel demand in the area.
Out of the 23 permanent passenger sheds constructed by the railways, four are located at Jhusi station. These sheds are equipped with water facilities, restrooms, and ticketing services.
Prayagraj Junction (PYJ), Prayagraj Rambagh (PRRB), Prayagraj Sangam (PYG), Prayag Junction (PRG), Naini Junction (NYN), Prayagraj Chheoki (PCOI), Phaphamau Junction (PFM), Jhusi (JI), and Subedarganj (SFG) are the nine railway stations in and around the city expected to witness the highest footfall. Additionally, arrangements are being made at nearby stations to manage the overflow of passengers.
