Lockdown 3.0: COVID-19 cases near 43,000, death toll at 1,566

The coronavirus case count in India is near the 43,000-mark, with around1,566 deaths reported across the country.

Note: In the past 24 hours, over 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 were reported.

 

Total number of recoveries: 12,847

The Delhi Police had to shut liquor stores in several parts of the city, hours after they opened for the first time since  March 24. This happened after videos of jostling crowds (not practising social distancing) in front of the shops went viral.

Days after Tripura was declared coronavirus free, 12 jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) tested positive for COVID-19. This comes a day after the unit reported 2 corona cases, taking the state’s total number of cases to 14.
