The Railway Board has given its approval to IRCTC to restore the system of levying service charges for passengers who book tickets online.
Please note: The temporary decision of waiving of service charges will be withdrawn very soon, leading to an increase in the price of online train tickets.
In a letter dated August 3, the Railway Board said, “In view of the advice given by the Ministry of Finance, the competent authority has decided that IRCTC may take a suitable decision on the imposition/restoration of convenience fee/service charges and the quantum to be levied.”
